Work Services we render:

  • Clean and keep clean public toilet facilities.
  • Train mothers on how to clean and maintain clean public toilets.
  • Supply of all toilets needs like toilet paper, cleaining chemicals and equipment.

Below is a list of some of the projects that The Clean Shop is currently undertaking or has undertaken:

  • The Royal Bafokeng Administration (RBA) has awarded The Clean Shop with a contract to clean toilets in ten schools at Phokeng.
  • Wedela Primary Schools (1250 pupils) in Wedela Township, Carletonville since 1997
  • Mbilwi High School (800 pupils) in Thohoyandou since 1997
  • Rockland Primary School (700 pupils) in Carletonville since 1997
  • University of Venda (12000 students) in Venda since 2005 to April 2009.
  • City Properties in Pretoria from 2002 till 2005.
  • 10 Royal Bafokeng Nation Schools (12 000 pupils) in Rusternburg, North West Province since 2007 to January 2009 (contract was for 1 year)
  • President Supermarket daily cleaning of the stores since 2003
  • AngloGold Ashanti Gold Mine Hostels since 1996 to August 2009 (contract price not paying enough)
  • President Supermarket daily cleaning of the stores since 2003
  • Bloemwater, a Water Utility company for the Free State Province, cleaning school toilets and implementing School Toilet and Sanitation education in 16 schools with 14000 pupils and 97 mothers and women being empowered trained and employed as Toilet and Sanitation Technicians since April 2010

  • National Union of Mineworkers offices country wide in South Africa since 2003


This is in addition to cleaning mine hostels for AngloGold Ashanti, Harmony Gold, etc. We also clean all the National Union of Mineworkers offices in the country.

Trevor is a toilet activist and revolutionary who has achieved and contributed much in the field of sanitation both in South Africa and internationally.

Below are some of his achievements:

  • Ashoka Fellow since 2001 (www.ashoka.org)
  • Member of the World Toilet Organisation (WTO) with head offices in Singapore (www.worldtoilet.org). The WTO is a global non-profit organization committed to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. Founded in 2001 with 15 members, it now has 151 member organizations in 53 countries working towards eliminating the toilet taboo and delivering sustainable sanitation.
  • Board member of the World Toilet Association (WTA) with head offices in Seoul, South Korea (www.withwta.org). The WTA is an international organization for the promotion of sustainable toilet and water management with a world-wide operation. Through the WTA, Trevor has received funds to build world-class ablution facilities for a high school in Phalaborwa, Limpopo.
  • Finalist in the Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Years - 2008 and 2009.

Lastly but not least: Current President of South African Toilet and Sanitation Alliance (SATSA). The first registered Toilet NGO in Africa, following guidelines of World Toilet Organization and World Toilet College Teachings.
